Interpreting Results

High Citation Count

What it means:

  • Query generates citation-rich responses
  • Topic has many trusted sources
  • Competitive landscape

Action:

  • Create comprehensive content
  • Differentiate from competitors
  • Focus on unique value

Low Citation Count

What it means:

  • Query too general or specific
  • Limited trusted sources available
  • Opportunity for authoritative content

Action:

  • Create definitive resource
  • Be first/best answer
  • Easier to rank

Your Domain Missing

What it means:

  • Content gap in your strategy
  • Not optimized for AEO
  • Competitors outranking you

Action:

  • Analyze competitors' content
  • Create better resource
  • Improve on-page AEO

Inconsistent Provider Results

What it means:

  • Providers have different training data
  • Different source preferences
  • Citation behavior varies

Action:

  • Test with multiple providers
  • Don't rely on single LLM
  • Optimize for all major providers

Troubleshooting Analytics

No Data Showing

Problem: Analytics page shows zeros

Solutions:

  1. Execute queries first
  2. Check database connection
  3. Verify RLS policies
  4. Refresh page

Duplicate Citations

Problem: Same URL counted multiple times

Expected: If cited in multiple responses

Example:

  • Query 1 + Claude → cites example.com
  • Query 2 + GPT-4 → cites example.com
  • Count: 2 (correct)

Cost Discrepancies

Problem: Analytics cost ≠ provider dashboard

Causes:

  • Rounding differences
  • Estimation vs actual
  • Different time zones

Normal: Within 10% variance

Next Steps

Use Analytics insights to:

  1. Refine Strategy - Focus on high-opportunity queries
  2. Create Content - Fill citation gaps
  3. Monitor Progress - Track improvements over time
  4. Optimize Execution - Test more queries in winning topics
